  • If you're an aspiring writer, amateur video game designer, or even a creative Dungeons & Dragons dungeon master, you've likely had to come up with a fictional world. While a dungeon master might not have to make their world as immersive as possible, I know I would want to - and an author or game designer absolutely has to have an immersive world if they want readers/players to enjoy their product.   • Worldbuilding is a term often used to describe the process of creating a fictional world, and it takes a lotof time and effort. That's why I'm breaking it down into a series of classes, each geared towards a specific aspect. Although this class, and subsequent worldbuilding classes, are going to be mostly geared towards writers, these principles can also apply to any other situation where a realistic fictional world is needed (and yes, I use the term "realistic" rather loosely, as magic is often a given in fantasy). Some of the resources I have used and intend to recommend were actually initially geared towards video game designers..
  • This class series is mainly about creating cultures, hence the title, and this class in particular is about research - where to look, what to look for, and what to do with the things you find. This is, frankly, a complicated process in and of itself, but I'm doing my best to make it as simple and straightforward as possible..
