You will be guided in terms of how your choice of fabric will affect the shape and style of your skirt and how you can alter this pattern to construct more skirts of different shapes and lengths to suit every occasion..
  • This class is for you if you own a basic sewing machine and have a basic understanding of sewing. You do not require any knowledge or prior experience in designing and you can continue with this lesson if you do not own an overlocker. I will guide you in terms of alternative methods to keep your fabric from fraying and advise you in selecting a fabric that does not fray or frays less..
  • This class is useful as it not only teaches you how to follow a pattern, but also to make your own pattern that is guaranteed to fit YOU. This class touches on pattern alterations to guide you in using the same pattern again for different lengths and styles, be on the lookout for one of my following classes on pattern alterations..
  • You will need:.
  • A sewing machine, entry-level is sufficient.
  • Machine needles, thread, pins, scissors.
  • Fabric, interfacing (The length will depend on the length you choose for your skirt).
  • Measuring Tape.
  • Zipper (Invisible zip, 15-20cm) 5.9 inches-7.8 inches.
  • Vilene or brown paper to draw your pattern, long ruler and pen/pencil.
