About Getting Started with Innovation

In this course you will learn the basic theory of innovation, including why organizations need to innovate, what innovation is, how to innovate, and how to execute innovation. Understand the importance of innovation and why your organization needs to have a clear case for change in order to innovate. Clarify doubts around what innovation really is and learn the difference between incremental and breakthrough innovation. Learn the critical elements of breakthrough innovation: trends, human needs, business model and unique combinations that make the innovation hard to copy. Learn how to innovate, difference between convergent and divergent problems, and how the importance of approaching divergent problems with collective intelligence. Learn tools and techniques that will help you approach complex problems through innovation, and you will be surprised to discover that little things you do when working with others can make an enormous difference: using the right language, following a structured process, taking other people's personalities into account, seeing the value of the opinion you don't agree with, scheduling regular meetings, etc..
