Impressions from Nature: Block Printing Inspired by the Outdoors

What You Will Learn?

• I am going to guide you through the wonderful process of block printing! Whether this is your first time with this process or you're interested in learning something new, we'll create a stamp inspired by an original illustration made by you! Nature is our muse for this course, and I'll be teaching you how to go out and make your own sketches from what you see and then turning those sketches into a stamp for printing on fabric and paper..
• My name is Emily Wool and I'm a block printer in central Virginia. Photographer Rebecca George over at Brave Dragonfly Photography filmed this class for us at Montfair Resort Farm - an eco friendly resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm so excited for you to see some of their beautiful property through Rebecca's eyes!.
• Printmaking is a great way to translate your unique and original vision into a piece that can be applied to many mediums. We'll be learning how to print on paper so you can make hand-printed cards, as well as fabric so you can try your hand at a block-printed tote-bag!.
• I want to dispel two myths for you with this course:.
• One- that drawing from nature is difficult and.
• Two- that printmaking is an intimidating process..
• We'll tackle both of those things together in a laid back, friendly (and not to mention beautiful!) environment and in a class you can take at your own pace. .
