What You Will Learn?

  • Welcome to Color Mixing Challenge! It´s a hands-on class where you will level up your color mixing skills by creating 7 beautiful watercolor floral paintings in loose style using a limited color palette..
  • In this challenge there will be 7 colors to explore during 7 weeks. Each week we will explore a new color. First you will have a color study exercise which will help you to explore your paints,  followed by a practice video where we are going to paint a floral composition.  .
  • By the end of the Challenge you will:.
  •  This class is great for intermediate students and for those who are looking to improve their color mixing skills. In this course there is minimum theory and maximum practice..
  • You need to have color mixing basics already as in this class we will dive deeper. If you are a beginner or struggle with color mixing I invite you first to watch my Color Mixing Basics class and then dive into Color Mixing practice..
  • For this Challenge I will use a limited set of 6 primary colors and I encourage you also to prepare a similar set of a limited color palette. I will use the following watercolors of Essential Set by Daniel Smith:.
  •  - Hansa Yellow Light (P.Y.3).
  •  - New Gamboge (P.Y.97, P.Y.110).
  •  - Quinacridone Rose (P.V.19).
  •  - Pyrrol Scarlet (P.R.255).
  •  - Phthalo Blue (PB 15:3).
  •  - French Ultramarine (P.B.29)..
  •  Using a limited color palette allows to create cohesive color schemes and to create harmonious paintings..
