- It’s been said that the greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another. In this course I’ll explain how you can better manage challenging or stressful situations in your work or personal life by reassessing and reframing your thinking. .
- Everything I cover is rooted in the science of how the brain responds to pressure – it’s all evidence-based and highly practical. You’ll come away with lots of insights, tools and tips. .
- I’ll start by explaining why sometimes, when we’re faced with a challenging situation, our brains generate thoughts that are unhelpful and often not accurate and why you shouldn’t necessarily believe everything you think. .
- I’ll go through six very common thinking traps that we fall into when we’re under pressure, and I’ll show you an exercise you can do to anaylse a challenging situation you’ve faced either at work or at home, where you strip out the emotion and focus on what you can control. .
- We can spend a lot of time agonising about things that we have no influence over and there’s a second exercise you can do to separate what you can control from what you can’t. .
- I’ll also explain how you can use some of these techniques to help you interact with other stressed people. .
- The content, which is for anyone, comes from workshops I’ve run run with over 30 companies including Ford and Adobe, to help employees manage pressure and build their resilience..
