What You Will Learn?
- Welcome to the Textured Leaf Drop Earrings class! If you've watched any of my other jewellery making video classes you'll already know that I like to get the most out of my tools and equipment - after all, they've cost me money so they need to pay their way! One of my favourite (yet more expensive) pieces of equipment is my disc cutter. It is very good quality but is still doing as good a job now as it did when I bought it ten years ago, but to get best value for money I like to use it for more than just cutting full discs..
- This class and the Crescent Moon Earrings each use one part of a pair of silver discs cut with my disc cutter and then sawn in two. I have textured the long leaf shapes used in this class with a laser-engraved texture sheet and my rolling mill to give a lovely pattern of overlapping leaves but you could just as easily add a hammered texture or use texture punches. A pair of beautiful bluey-green flourite beads complete the earrings, and I'll also teach you how to make the headpins that the beads dangle on..
- This is one of a series of video classes, each one showing you how to quickly and easily make a lovely pair of earrings - sometimes two pairs - as part of my #52earrings challenge. I have challenged myself to design and film tutorials for 52 pairs of earrings in 2017, and I'd love you to join me. In each video I will show you the materials you will need, explain the tools and equipment and go through all the steps needed to create your own lovely pair of earrings. Along the way I will share with you the same hints and tips that I teach in my jewelry making classes and private tuition so that you become more confident with your techniques and design skills with each class that you watch..
- This class is for all abilities, from beginner jewellery makers upwards. .
- The equipment needed for the project is explained in the videos and also listed on a downloadable document that covers most of the tools that I will use in future earrings video classes as well so you can plan ahead! All the equipment listed can be used for a variety of other jewellery making projects..
- Earrings #30 in the #52earrings challenge..
